After that we go to see Mas Village as central of wood carving in bali. After that we visit Tirta Empul temple (holy spring water temple, than at around 2 oclock we arrive Kintamani the village of Volcano, here you can stop for lunch once you enjoy the view. On the way back you can visit organic coffee plantation and production than stop for a minute to take picture at Cekingan (one of best rice terrace in Bali). After that back to the hotel.

Celuk – Gold & Silver Smith

Although many arts and crafts have prospered in Celuk, the village has evolved into a center for silver and gold smith. Almost every home in the village contains small scale production facilities fulfilling orders placed by large shops and exporters. Bracelets, rings, earrings and brooches, to name a few of range of products produced here, have started to enter the export market. The silver and gold craft trade was pierced by the Beratan clan of smiths (pande). Nowadays most Celuk residents, whether or not they are members of the pande clan, have become gold and silver smiths.

Batuan Temple

Batuan Temple is a local Balinese Hindu temple looked after by the local resident of Batuan countryside. The temple is designed very beautiful with full of Balinese ornaments and the roof temple building is made from the fiber of chromatic black palm tree. Mas Village – Wood Carving Center

At the end of the 15th century, a holy Hindu high priest named Danghyang Nirartha (Ida Pedanda Sakti Bahu Rauh) came to Bali from Java and settled in this village. This priest gave the Balinese Hinduism the form to its current form, including its highly complicated offerings and spectacular cremation rituals. In the golden age of the Gelgel kingdom, he became the royal priest. And many temples are associated with his name as he made a long holy trip on foot through the island. Most of the family of this village are from Brahmana caste and they honor their ancestors in Pura Taman Pule which built upon the sight of the priests residence. Though "Mas" means gold, but this village is the center of woodcarving. Almost all the villagers are talented in carving wood. None of them is goldsmith. Some of the carvers specialize in making for the topeng (mask) and the other in garuda (gigantic bird).

TIRTA EMPUL    : Holy Spring Water Temple

This temple is regarded as one of six most important temples in Bali, apart from the usual suspects like Pura Besakih and Pura Luhur Uluwatu. The name "Tirta Empul" signifies a crystal clear stream which is used as the holy water for various religious ceremony.

As usual, visitors are allowed only up to the main courtyard. From here, one could enjoy the exquisite twin shrines and split gate, common in most temples in Bali. Indeed, at the outside, I could see a clear stream flowing in the vicinity of the temple.

Inside the inner sanctum, there are a number of bathing pools for the Hindus. There is also a huge open-air complex in the courtyard where anyway could take a seat and do nothing.

Oddly, the way out is not the same as the way in. Supposedly the pura officials had diverted unsuspecting visitors to a few rows of wooden stalls selling cheap souvenirs. Only after 5 minutes of walk I found myself safe from the unfortunate taunting of cheap T-shirts and handicrafts.

Kintamani
